What a great day so far

I am leaving today to hunting for 5 days. I can't wait! I have never gone to the cabin for more than 2 nights before so this will be different. My goal is to get 2 deer this week so that I can take some time away. I come back on Sunday in the afternoon. So that has had my spirits up for the last few days. The really great news is that the job I was waiting to here back from called me this morning and want me to pursue a career with them. I delayed my hunting trip for a couple of hours and I am going to meet with them before I go. I am going to become an insurance agent. The company is going to set me up to take the test to get my state license to sell insurance and after I get them... then I'm off. Selling insurance to every possible person that I come across. I am really excited about it. To me it was a no brainer. I love helping people and I love meeting new people. It just fits for me. Now I have 2 hours before I meet with them and I still have some light packing to do. At least now I have sometime to clean up around the house before I go. My wife will be happy with that. I don't know what she is gonna do without me for a week, but I'm sure she has it all planned out. See you in five days!!!

More like work week

I started doing my gutters last Saturday. I just finished everything up about an hour ago. The last hour and a half was don in the pouring rain. I couldn't be more happy that it is complete. Thr major problem was that I had to replace all of the wood on the over hang. That was took about 2 days all together. My fatehr-n-law was able to help me last Saturday but ended up being too sore to help on Sunday. So I've been going solo all week. I had to the wood after I put it up. Which was hard because it has been cold as heck all week. Its all good like I said its all done so no worries. I will post a pic when I can get one .

Work weekend

Today I was busy getting ready for tomorrows busy day. Somedays its pretty cool being unemployed and some days its not. Today I was able to finish something that I had left hanging to do way back in July. I never could find the time to get on it. I reroofed my garage in July and let me tell you that is a job. I had to replace 17 boards and 9 trusses. My garage is pretty big. It is 27 feet by 24 feet and the roof has a peak. Well today I took off the old gutters and tomorrow I am going to replace them. Yeah and it also looks like I going to be replacing more wood that has rotted away. My wife and I bought this house just over a year ago and now we know why we got such a great deal on it. The work is never ending! I think I should be done doing the job tomorrow right as the sun is going down. Oh, and I have the best father-n-law possible. He has helped us so much around our house and yes he will be helping me tomorrow. Well today was definately one of those days is was cool to be unemployed. I was able to work and get stuff done. Somedays I just sit around and those days are the worst. I mean I really can never just sit around because Coco ALWAYS wants to play but its days like today that feel great. Like I accomplished something.

First Hunt of the Season

It was a really great weekend. Unfortunatly I didn't get a deer but the changing leaves were great and the weather was hot. I got down there about 1pm on friday and set the scope on my new crossbow. My beautiful wife bought me a new crossbow for our anniversary. I had a total of four hunts this weekend. Friday night, then Saturday morning and Saturday night, then on Sunday morning. It was an active weekend for the deer. I saw 4 deer total in the woods but never in range or I never got a good shot to take.

On the news it said that this weekend was the peak for the changing leaves. There were some spots where all you can see is colors. These photos don't really do it justice.

Here are some pictures from my treestand. These pics are from my Saturday night stand and some are from my Sunday morning stand. It felt great to be in the woods. I love morning hunts the best. Iknow it's hard to get up at 4:30am but when your out there its all worth it. Its pitch black in the mornings and right before the sun comes up you can hear the woods waking up around you. Its great to witness.

Coco's Birthday

here are some pictures from Coco's birthday that my wife took.

Friday is finally here!!

That was a long week.. in a lot of ways. I had a couple of interviews this week. One of which seems kinda promising. I will be praying on it and asking God to open the right doors. Yesterday was Coco's 1st birthday. I went to the pet store and bought him the expensive dog food. He had prime rib for lunch and T-bone steaks for dinner. He was a very happy dog. He also loves stuffed animals so I bought him one that is made for dogs. It is in the shape of a beaver. His most prized gift (which made him do laps around the living room) was his rawhide bone. He loves his rawhide bones. well I'm all packed up and everything is in the truck. Time to go hunting. Its gonna be a beautiful weekend. weather is supposed to be in the mid-70 degrees all weekend. I can't wait to see all the leaves changes down there. I will back pictures, hopefully of my successful weekend, but definately of the beautiful landscape.

Just another day...

Today I went on my first job interview since losing my job. Complete waste of time. I knew going into it I wasn't going to take it, but I know I need to get some practice interviews in. I guess it was good for that. I'm really pumped for this weekend. Going hunting for the first time this season. Magie bought me a crossbow for our anniversary and I am so anxious to use it. I went to gander mountain today and picked up some need things. I needed a new waist pack and I got a great deal on some camo pants. Now i'm all ready to go. It just needs to be Friday already!

Great Quotes of the Bible

"The secret of my success? It is simple. It is found in the Bible." George Washington Carver
"It is impossible to enslave mentally or socially a Bible-reading people. The principles of the Bible are the groundwork of human freedom." Horace Greeley
"The existence of the Bible is a book for the people. It's the greatest benefit the human race has ever experienced. Every attempt to belittle it is a crime against humanity." Immanuel Kant
"I believe the Bible is the best gift God has ever given to man." Abraham Lincoln
"The Bible has been the Magna Charta of the poor and the oppressed. The human race is not in a position to dispense with it." Thomas Huxley
"The Bible is no mere book, but it's a living creature with a power that conquers all who oppose it." Napoleon
"The Bible is...as necessary to spiritual life as breath is to natural life. There is nothing more essential to our lives than the Word of God." Jack Hayford
"It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible." George Washington
"Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people...so great is my veneration of the Bible that the earlier my children begin to read, the more confident will be my hope that they will prove useful citizens in their country and respectful members of society." John Adams
"A nation of well-informed men who have been taught to know the price of rights which God has given them cannot be enslaved." Benjamin Franklin
"That Book (the Bible) is the rock on which our Republic rests." Andrew Jackson
"The Bible is the cornerstone of liberty...students' perusal of the sacred volume will make us better citizens, better fathers, and better husbands." Thomas Jefferson
"The Bible is worth all other books which have ever been printed." Patrick Henry
"If we will not be governed by God, then we will be ruled by tyrants." William Penn
"Bible reading is an education in itself." Lord Tennyson
"There are more sure marks of authenticity in the Bible than in any profane history." .... "I have a fundamental belief in the Bible as the Word of God, written by men who were inspired. I study the Bible daily." Sir Isaac Newton
"The New Testament is the very best book that ever was or ever will be known in the world." Charles Dickens
"The whole hope of human progress is suspended on the ever growing influence of the Bible." W.H. Seward
"The Bible was written in tears, and to tears it yields its best treasures." A.W. Tozer
"It is clear that there must be difficulties for us in a revelation such as the Bible. If someone were to hand me a book that was as simple to me as the multiplication table, and say, 'This is the Word of God. In it He has revealed His whole will and wisdom,' I would shake my head and say, 'I cannot believe it; that is too easy to be a perfect revelation of infinite wisdom.' There must be, in any complete revelation of God's mind and will and character and being, things hard for the beginner to understand; and the wisest and best of us are but beginners." R.A. Torrey
"My advice to Sunday Schools no matter what their denomination is: Hold fast to the Bible as the sheet anchor of your liberties; write its precepts in your heart, and practice them in your lives. To the influence of this Book we are indebted for the progress made in true civilization and to this we must look as our guide in the future. 'Righteousness exalteth a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people (Proverbs 14:34)'." Ulysses S. Grant
"At this time I both read and studied all kinds of literature: cosmography, histories, chronicles, and philosophy and other arts , to which our Lord opened my mind unmistakably to the fact that it was possible to navigate from here to the Indies, and He evoked in me the will for the execution of it; and with this fire I came to Your Highnesses. All those who heard of my plan disregarded it mockingly and with laughter. All the sciences of which I spoke were of no profit to me nor the authorities in them; only in Your Highnesses my faith, and my stay. Who would doubt that this light did not come from the Holy Spirit, anyway as far as I am concerned, which comforted with rays of marvelous clarity and with its Holy and Sacred Scriptures." Christopher Columbus
"All that we hear and read should be measured for accuracy by the standard of the Bible and the 'Holy Ghost filter'." Betty Miller
